Albert M. Rubenstein, Trustee, has been a member of Ohr Kodesh since 1953 and joined because it was within walking distance. Albert has been president of Ohr Kodesh and has been involved in the Religious Activities, Personnel and Education Committees. He has also been active on the Jewish Community Council. Born and raised in New York, NY, Albert received a M.S. in Physics from the University of MD, a B.S. in Physics from Brooklyn College and attended Oak Ridge Atomic Energy School & the Talmudical Academy. Now retired, Albert was formerly Acting Director of Ballistic Missile Defense at the Pentagon and at the Institute for Defense Analyses --Advanced Technology and Research and Major Defense and Office of Naval Research. Albert is married to Eleanor, a former vice principal of the Consolidated Hebrew School. Their children, Shira and Mitchell celebrated their b’nei mitzvah at Ohr Kodesh. Eleanor and Albert are grandparents to Stacy, Sanford, Jessica, Billy, and Zachary. Albert is the older brother of Rabbi Samuel of Columbus Ohio, of Rabbi Bernard Rubenstein,z`l of Syosset, and Rabbi Martin Rubenstein of Upper Darby PA. Al has been a Yankee fan since he saw Babe Ruth hit a home run.
