Learner's Luncheon

Murray & Nettie Kaye Social Hall (E + W)

This year's OKC educational theme is “Mah tovu ohalekha, Ya’akov, mishkenotekha Yisrael” . . . How lovely are your dwellings, Jacob, your sanctuaries Israel.  During 5779, let us enrich our homes, shul, and schools with Jewish learning, living, and loving.. Throughout the year, our intention is to explore this theme in various educational venues.

The program for March 2: George Washington and the Jews

President’s Day, now celebrated on the third Monday in February, celebrates the birth of our first president, George Washington; (although some recognize it as honoring Abraham Lincoln as well). Our discussion at this early March Learners’ Lunch will focus on George Washington (and possibly Abraham Lincoln) and the Jews.

There will be an area with tables set up for young children and their parents at the lunch. Babysitting will be available following lunch, and there will be a play area with suitable toys for children who wish to remain with their parents while the parents engage in discussion.  There will also be youth tables for 2nd -8th graders with their own discussion questions.

Please contact the coordinator for the Learners’ Lunch, Helen Sunshine, at helsun13 [at] gmail [dot] com with any questions.
