Book Club Discussion
IRENA’S CHILDREN BY TILAR MAZZEO

In keeping with this year’s Ohr Kodesh theme of GRATITUDE, the OKC Book Club will be discussing Tilar Mazzeo’s biography of Irena Sendler. Sendler, a Polish activit and social worker, is credited with
running an organization that saved more than 2,500 children during the Holocaust.

Irena’s Children, published in 2016, is Tilar Mazzeo’s latest book. She is an acclaimed writer of narrative nonfiction. Yom HaShoah v’HaG’vurah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, also honors those who risked their lives to save the Nazis’ victims.  Despite being recognized by the State of Israel in 1965 for her efforts, Irena Sendler’s story is not widely known.

The OKC Book Club is open to all. Visitors are always welcome. Feel free to bring a dairy or parve lunch to the meeting.  Coffee will be provided. For planning purposes, please let Barry Cantor know if you plan to attend (natbar [at] verizon [dot] net or 301-933-3776).
