Quotidian Kabbalah: “Mindfulness” and the Structure of Tefillah
Sunday morning, March 25, 9:45 AM
Facilitator: David Julian Gray, djg [at] well [dot] com

Kabbalah” is commonly understood, in our time and place, to refer to the esoteric and mystical, but the most direct translation is tradition. There is a long tradition in Judaism of practice for achieving “mindfulness,” not necessarily esoteric or mystical – it is not concealed from you, nor is it far away. Rather, it should be quotidian – something we encounter every day. In this year’s installment of “Quotidian Kabbalah” we will look at the weekday morning service as a structured meditation through a variety of states of consciousness preparing one for a day of mindful activity. The class should be fun, instructive and a thinly-veiled pitch for participation in our daily morning minyan.
