Speaker: Stuart Eizenstat

Location:
Cohen Chapel

Stuart Eizenstat will speak about his new book, PRESIDENT CARTER: The White House Years.

The book offers a comprehensive examination and analysis, long overdue, of the presidency of Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States, who remains a visible and vocal presence in American politics. Citing Carter’s lasting accomplishments, many of which continue to shape American politics at home and abroad, it will make the case that Carter was the most impactful, consequential modern-era one-term U.S. President.

Stuart Eizenstat served as Carter’s chief White House domestic policy adviser, and thus had a front row seat for both the large and small decisions in the administration. Based on extensive research and hundreds of first-hand interviews with key officials within and outside of the Carter administration, PRESIDENT CARTER is an intimate, behind-the-scenes account of a president who always strove to do what he saw as the right thing, while often disregarding the political repercussions.

The book will be available for purchase ($27 each)
