Robin Grunberger

Robin Grunberger has been a member of Ohr Kodesh since 2009. Although she has participated in many volunteer activities, she is most proud of co-chairing the Kiddush Committee the past few years.

Robin thanks the many volunteers, generous donors, and OK staff who make Kiddush happen every week. She is honored to be part of a team that creates a weekly event that brings our community closer together and combines two of her favorite things- Shabbat and fudge-topped cookies.  Robin was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia. She had a bat mitzvah at Temple B’nai Shalom. After marrying a Montgomery County boy, she traded a better tax rate in Virginia for a wonderful community here in Maryland.

Robin maintains close ties to her former state. During the week Robin is a nationally board certified high school teacher in Arlington, VA, beloved by students and peers for 17 years.

Yes, she started teaching when she was 11.

Before having her own children, Robin was very active playing Division I lacrosse at the University of Virginia and coaching her high school’s varsity lacrosse team to numerous championships.

After having children, Robin continues to be very active in carpooling, picking up endless toys, and cooking an average of four different meals a night.

Robin and her husband, Daniel, have three children- Jack, Evy, and Nili. All were named at Ohr Kodesh by Rabbi Fishman, educated at OKECC, and continue to keep both the lollipop man and the local dentist in business.
