Rachel Evenson

The Ner Tamid Fellow functions as our educational administrator at Ohr Kodesh. It’s a two- to three-year entry-level position, in which we offer a recent college graduate an opportunity to learn about synagogue administration from the inside, providing mentorship, guidance, and skills development, as well as assistance in applying to jobs or graduate school as the fellow plots out the next step in his or her career. Our first Ner Tamid Fellow, Jessica Woolf, is currently in cantorial school at Hebrew College, and our most recent Ner Tamid Fellow, Andy Weissfeld, is currently working at Camp Ramah in New England before he begins rabbinical school at the Jewish Theological Seminary.

Rachel Evenson is a recent graduate of East Carolina University, where she studied applied sociology and art. She was the president of the student board of Hillel at ECU, and actively worked to grow the Hillel’s participation on campus.  She was involved in Jewish activities in and around Durham, North Carolina, and has a passion for work that will benefit the Jewish community.

We are thrilled to have Rachel Evenson on our team, and look forward to her contributions to the education department at Ohr Kodesh!
